Autosabina

The beginning of the compnay

• The company's started in December 1920, when American Lithuanians set up company AB "Amlitas’’, the company sold Ford cars, spare parts, gasoline, oil and organized driver courses and passengers transporting
• In 1924,  company  AB "Amlitas’’ has manufactured its first bus, which’s chassis and engines came from abroad.
• 1936-1937 was made the first bus, which was powered by charcoal.
• 1946-1949 AB company "Amlitas’’ was reorganized into Kaunas car repair plant to produce trucks, cars and perform repairs.
• In 1962, the plant was connected to the Kaunas bus body plant, which produced buses KAG-3
• In 1981-1982 in the newly-built factory building (4608 m²) it was mastered the full the completed repairs  of buses Ikarus-260.

Privatization

• In 1993, Kaunas State auto repair company was privatized by registrating the company AB "Autosabina’’, which continued all the pre-existing activities, custom metal product production. In the same year set up car and truck service centers, organized car and their spare parts trafficking,  established customs open warehouses and a cargo terminal.
• Company AB "Autosabina’’ is ‘’National customs warehouses and import-export terminal association’’ member.
• In 1996 company became a Swedish group VOLVO's business partner. Then it was founded VOLVO trucks warranty and post-warranty maintenance service.
• In 1999, company AB "Autosabina‘‘ sold non-productive buildings and reconstructed other spaces. After reconstruction of existing facilities ‘‘Autosabina‘‘ set up a new car showroom, which sold new HONDA and CITROËN cars.
• In 2001 October 1 Kaunas City Municipality Register Office Order No. 675 ‘‘Autosabina‘‘ transformed into a UAB (private joint-stock) company.

The last decade

• In 2003 a new car salon was built. It had a 900 m² car service area and a 1700 m² area showroom. In the second floor there were office premises. Also that year ‘‘Autosabina‘‘ built a new 3500 m² logistics warehouse.
• In 2004 21 December by  international certificates it was confirmed that the company UAB ‘’Autosabina’’ together with a closed UAB ‘’Autosabina Motors’’ established and work under environmental management systems ISO 9001:2000 and EN ISO 14001 in the following areas: automobile commerce,  car service, logistics services.
• According to the standards above mentioned companies’ activities are regulate by environmental quality manual and procedures, published in quality and environmental policy.
• This system ensures a high level of service and production quality to meet customer expectations and needs in production, reducing its negative impact on the environment, under the environmental management standard ISO 14001:2004 requirements in 2005.
• In 2005 December 1-2 companies had an audit, which found that the quality and environmental management systems are in place and meets the standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004.
• In 2008 Built a new (7800 m²) logistics warehouse with office spaces. Also it that year company built a new four-storey (1,250 m²) office building.
• 2009 logistics business was taken by UAB ‘’Autosabina logistics’’, automotive business - UAB "Autosabina Motors".  In 2010 metal products business was transferred to UAB ‘’Autosabina metal’’.
